The Ultimate
Writing for Virtual Production
I wrote this short as part of a small production team looking to shoot within a fictional 3D environment, in camera, using a virtual production volume (VP). It was an exercise in building a narrative that would help bind our actors into this fabricated world.
The story follows a prolific social media influencer as she searches out her final challenge: to claim the ultimate prize. Caught inside her own echo chamber, she must now face her biggest daemon.

Over the past decade, I have furthered my knowledge of the mechanics of visual storytelling by identifying how images can guide the senses and promote the audience experience through meaning and emotion. I have an MA in Screenwriting from Bath-Spa University and have mentored students of animation in structure and cinematic design. I hold a speculative portfolio of short form and feature film scripts.

High Life
Storyboard Example
I developed High Life for Atelier VFX as a promotional film, from script to timed board, in 2022. The story follows the exploits of a small snail who, despite high aspirations, discovers that engineering a route beyond your limits will not escape who you are.

This development work showcases my own creative property. It is a promotional trailer, designed to communicate the narrative and story alongside the emotional feel of the script. I created ‘fast and loose’ storyboard sketches and directed voice talent, to quickly create a pitch for the film.

The Doctor
A Rehearsed Reading
This rehearsed reading is an excerpt from my original script, The Doctor – a twist on Robert Southey’s tale: The Story of the Three Bears. In this whacky re-imagining, genetics, farming and spaceships provide a novel backdrop for Goldilocks and her selfish plight.
The Doctor is performed by Hannah-Marie Chidwick.
